Honhaar Scholarship 2025-26: Punjab’s Largest Undergraduate Funding Program
Launched in 2023 by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Honhaar Merit Scholarship Program is the most ambitious education initiative in Punjab's history. Managed by the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC), it provides full tuition coverage to 30,000 high-achieving students annually across BS and MBBS programs in public universities and 65 approved private institutions.
With a 60% female quota and focus on rural/low-income families, Honhaar has already funded over 90,000 students and reduced dropout rates by 28% in underserved districts. Phase 3 (2025-26) targeted fresh 1st-semester students with applications closing on the extended deadline of October 26, 2025.
November 29, 2025 Update: Phase 3 merit lists released (provisional Nov 15, final Dec 1). Awards disbursed from Jan 2026. Phase 4 for mid-semester students opens Jan 2026.
